• Please introduce yourself: what’s your name, how old are you, and where are you from?
[answer] Im AVARU, 24 years old from Germany.

[Question] How did you get introduced to the Brazilian Funk genre?
[answer] I used to be an industry producer for years but always wanted to be an artist so in October 2025 i started producing brazilian phonk.
• Wow, great!

[Question] What’s the story behind your creative pseudonym?
[answer] Well i wasn’t happy with my financial success as a producer so it was definetly a goal to earn money from being an artist, my name AVARU is inspired by the Portuguese word “avaro” which means greedy (lol).

[Question] Which track and artist made an incredible impression on you for the first time
[answer] When i started last year nakama, javi, mxzi and gxmz were popping off so those guys inspired me to start.

[Question] Do you listen to music other than Funk? Name your top 5 artists outside of this genre.
[answer] Well obviously i listened a lot to trap music (future, offset etc.) tho i cant name my top 5 artists as they change frequently

[Question] What plugins do you use most often for creating melodies? Why those ones?
[answer] Serum 2 all day. best vst to sounddesign, most creative control over presets. i believe all you need is serum, with practice you’ll be able to create any sound.

[Question] When and why did you decide to create your own social networks? What were your emotions from your first success?
[Answer] I created my socials on the day i released my first song, it’s an essential part of brand building even tho it’s time consuming. it’s cool to have reached millions of people but at the end of the day we all need money to keep doing what we’re doing, i see tiktok as a tool, not as an archievement.

[Question] Do your parents practice (or did they practice) music, and if so, did they give you advice?
[answer] 7. My father was very interested in my music journey from the start, he always gave feedback and threw in ideas, my parents supported me in the best way possible and i’m very grateful.

[Question] And lastly, what advice or tips can you give to aspiring artists who are just starting to write Funk?
[answer] Work on your craft, try to be the best producer you can be. actually go the long way and learn as much as you can, it will pay off. don’t do it for money, there’s better ways to earn cash but if you love what you do you will be able to make a living off of music for sure. be prepared that it will take time tho.
